SANDWICH ART BY BRITTANY POWELL

Fun connoisseur of modern art, Brittany Powell, of Low Commitment-Projects (“making stuff happen with little time and energy”) has achieved the perfect trifecta: art, comedy, and food. She’s made some awesome sandwich tributes to some art legends such as Damien Hirst, Piet Mondrian, Jaspher Johns, and others. How great is this?!

Morning made.

Sumfin’ I drew for Miss Nicholas - see her work here.
We have a passion for memes. SO DELICIOUS

Shauna has just joined tumblr, and not only is she a damn good fashion photographer and graphic designer, she’s also a stellar meme-maker. Triple threat. This is something she drew after a lengthy facebook discussion about the joys of doing what I do. It’s about as spot on as clearasil.
Go follow her, she’s pretty awesome.

Um, who makes these? Because they’re awesome.
Stav, I hope you’re seeing this!
EDIT: Thanks to Billy Prime, I now know these are made by Les Queues de Sardines.

Jerry Hall on the cover of Roxy Music’s 1975 album, Siren.
Photographed by Graham Hughes (I believe, hard as hell to find accurate credits) on rocks near South Stack, Anglesey.
Some outtakes:

And a bit of behind the scenes with Mr Ferry

Such a babe. I love this cover. She definitely looks mythical, almost frightening, but in an amazingly mesmerising way.
If you’re a Bryan Ferry fan and happen to be in Los Angeles between now and Nov 5th, you should check this out.

Say what you will about John Galliano - I agree, he has some seriously unfortunate views about religion and heritage and that sort of behaviour and thinking is completely unacceptable in this day and age - but goddamn, the man could design his ass off, and I miss that so very much.

This is my favourite footage of both him and a very young and angelic Kate Moss backstage at his Spring/Summer 1994 collection, taken from the film Catwalk (I believe - still waiting to get my hands on a copy!). It’s hilarious, I fucking love it, and she looks goddamn gorgeous.

The only video I can find of the show is this, and I suggest you watch that as well. It’s like some sort of drunken sorority Barry Lyndon piece that says ‘fuck you, runway photographers *SKIRTSMACK*’ and also showcases some seriously glorious gowns (that I would KILL to shoot), not to mention the damn hot 90s models (‘gasm).

Carla Bruni, hello!

My glorious gal Stavroula is back in town this weekend and next for family, friends, fun and film awards. More on the latter later, but right now I just need to re-express my absolute love for her choice of New Year’s Eve costume and celebrate the fact that she’s returned to us, albeit briefly.
Love my crazy broads.

The ONLY reason to sit through Oceans Twelve.

That, and Bruce Willis skeptically eyeing off Julia Roberts during her very Freudian conversation with herself. But mainly this.

Vincent Cassel, you are one sexy bastard.

How About That of the Day: In which a pretty girl transforms herself into Jared Leto before your very eyes to the tune of “Closer” by Nine Inch Nails.

…DUDE!

And now I am conflicted. Kind of like the first time I saw Brian Molko and didn’t know if it was a boy or a girl… and either way didn’t care.

Makeup is AWESOME.

Kate Bush.
Epic Talent/Mega Babe. What a combo.
If Tori Amos is the Cornflake Girl, then Kate Bush is Kellogg’s.
And if you don’t know her music, get into it. Get into it now.
I highly recommend you check out the Live @ Hammersmith Odeon concert from 1979. I grew up watching a bad vhs copy of it over and over again, and it still has pride of place on my shelf next to the 1989 Pink Floyd Delicate Sound of Thunder tour.
This is my fave from it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPET5xu3c18
And of course the day I found out Placebo (one of my alltime favourite bands) had covered Running Up That Hill, well… let’s just say I needed a cold shower.
Click the photo for the video of her original version.
It makes me want to take up dance. And dye my hair back to red.
And for all the boys, google Kate Bush + Babooshka. You can thank me later.
